The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix returns to the Motor City June 3-5, 2016. The weekend-long auto racing event will feature the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit doubleheader, an IndyCar Series event, and the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic, an International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) Championship.
2016 Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
Racing enthusiasts can head to The Raceway at Belle Isle Park street circuit in Detroit, Michigan this weekend to kick off the summer on a high note by checking out the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.
The 2016 Detroit Grand Prix will feature the Verizon IndyCar Series, the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the Trans Am Series, and the high-flying trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks presented by TRAXXAS.
The three-day event will offer plenty of racing, live music, free ATV rides, a craft show featuring 30 Michigan artists, a beer garden, Detroit sports-related interactive games and displays, and a tailgate-themed Coors Light Party Pit. Even this year’s Indy 500 winner, Alexander Rossi, is here for the fun (pictured above).
Also, Detroit Red Wings star Dylan Larkin will serve as Grand Marshal on Saturday, June 4. Larkin, a Waterford, MI native, will have the honor of giving the iconic command, “Drivers, Start Your Engines,” and hang out and participate in activities all day long.

Friday, June 3:
*While event-goers can catch these races this weekend, they will be broadcast on tape delay. The Trans Am Series Motor City 100 will air on Saturday, July 2 on CBS Sports Network at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time, while the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Truck races don’t have a set broadcast date as of yet.
